| In
2002 we adopted a seven month old baby girl from Viet Nam. We
began the adoption process in the fall of 2000 (see Timeline below),
working
closely with Journeys of The Heart Adoption Services here in Hillsboro,
Oregon. Her Vietnamese name
is Nguyen Thi Ly,
her American name is Emily Thi-Ly Hunt. Our
first trip to
Hanoi, Vietnam began on March 8, 2002 - we completed some
paperwork and
various documents to finalize the adoption. We met
and were able to spend time with Emily while we were there.
BUT
unfortunately -- we were unable to bring her home with us.
At that
time, two
trips to Vietnam were required to
finalize an adoption. We left the US for the
second trip
on
May 05, 2002, to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Emily
has been with us since May 7, 2002. Here are the
first three pictures we
have of Emily.
