Kids WorkshopSince Dad works at Home Depot and since Emily is unable to attend the Kid's   workshops there due to a conflict with her ballet lessons,  I bring the kits home and she and I do the projects there.  Today (October 24) was a day off for Dad and it was raining outside so we did two of the projects.  The first  was the Fire Truck Crayon Holder and the second was the Plastic Bag Storage box.  Emily is pretty good with a hammer and has not hit any thumbs with it yet - not even Dad's.

OK, first project - the Fire Truck Crayon Holder.

Step one is to sand the pieces

Step two is to do some nailing . . .

And hammering . . .

And more hammering

Once all that is done, we add the axles

to each wheel

Then with a little glue

add them to the truck.

Hammering helps ensure a nice fit

Then test

Next we add the stickers

Ladder stickers

One on each side

Then the safety sign on the back

And the numbers on the doors

Insert the crayons

and we're done!

The second project follows much the same pattern . . .

Sanding

Hammering

Fitting parts

. . .

More hammering

More . . .

Still more . . .

Finally, we're done!
Note the official HD apron just like the one that Dad wears at work.
