| The year started off with a rarity (at least for us). We must have had 5" of snow with 1/2" of freezing rain (freezing rain means ICE) on top of it Now I don't know about where you live, but here that's cause for closing the schools, closing the churches, closing the city, sending everyone home from work, closing the airport, shutting down light rail, hoping that the Californians and their SUV's STAY HOME with their cars in the GARAGE. Additionally, for some unknown reason, all the TV stations had to be on 24 hour "Storm Alert" with their "Storm Teams" broadcasting images of "the blizzard" and making stupid, inane comments all day and all night for three days. A fine example of (1) small town excitement and (2) content-free "news". |
